chaos
So allow me illustrate the scene for you: My husband and I are at my parents for a relaxing visit with our 1 month old son who is about 10 minutes away from letting us know he is starving when our loyal neighbor’s Tami and Dave call my husband.  His face goes from “oh! Hey Dave and Tami! yayyy” to “what did you just say?” Needless to say they called to inform us...

So I owe any Tumblr followers an apology.  I have failed to maintain my page as I have been taking a break of sorts from social networking for the most part.  I have been keeping a journal which I claimed I intended to post here and honestly, decided not to because it somewhat defeats the purpose…right?  Regardless I am going to attempt to be better about all of this but I must admit that I...

93
Its 93 deg outside right now. Mother nature put her tease on with 70’s last week. I’m so ready for fall. Is it pathetic that I bought a sweater and moccasins yesterday and I am wearing them regardless of the scorching temp? Perhaps if I bundle up the weather will submit to my wishes and it will be 63, and the trees will start to turn. After that they get naked and you know what...

Girls night
Had a girls night tonight with one of my best friends. It consisted of Kill Bill Volume 1 which she had never seen, skinny girl margarita which is surprisingly 12.7 percent alcohol by volume (who knew?) And mikes hard. Needless to say I’m feeling awesome and would consider myself ready to take on just about anyone in a samurai fight. This girls night was naturally inspired by boy...

I feel like I'm falling....
I can’t sleep. The only thing I hate more than “going” to sleep is failing at the task. When you try to “go” to sleep it never works out. That’s why you always here people saying “when I finally fell to sleep…” The key word in this sentence is fell. Sleep is meant to be fallen into like love or ditches. You should be able to fall asleep as...

Gettin' lucky in Kentucky
So I just spent the weekend in Kentucky at Lake Cumberland. Seriously one of the most beautiful places in the country. I did a lot of boating, drinking, poker playing (won the pot btw!) And laying in the sun. This was a much needed vacation for me. The campground that we stayed at is in Nancy,KY which is a super small town with places called “the hardware store” or...

NoBo
Today my No Boundaries group ran 2.25 miles without stopping. This group is a beginner only group for anyone interested in running their first 5K. I started coaching NoBo because it is life changing. Our slogan is “running changes everything.” Today I saw that our slogan rings true. When this group first began I took them out for a mile. Some walked and some ran as much as...

Forever May You Run
Running.  This activity that so many openly despise, is one of my top 10 reasons for living.  My friend wrote a poem once that went something like “pavement smack free fast sun warm pavement hard knees hurt ouch.” His name is Jeremy Duncan and although this poem seems odd it’s really genius.  He was on to something…When I run I feel free, the sun cascades across my skin and...

I put your picture away
O.K. I’m officially a tad irritated because my camera’s memory card is full and I can’t find the cable to upload them to my computer.  As annoying as this issue may be it has led me to consider buying an old film camera and ditching digital all together.  I used to love the time I spent mixing chemicals and playing with filters in the dark room.  The way that the skin on my...

Sharing.
I am what some may consider “old school.”  I log my feelings, my emotions, my experiences, my life every day in an old composition notebook.  I started doing this when my best friend, who would later become my husband left for Iraq to serve a 15 month tour for the army.  The day he left I started keeping a comp book journal filled with my trials, tribulations, tears, and triumphs.  It...

blairsings asked: Thank you so much!!! Seriously, I really appreciate it. I wrote "As Good As It Gets" about 2 years ago and I think it was the first song where people (me included) were like, "Wow, you might really have something!". I'm still really proud of the lyrics. Sometimes I listen to it and I'm like damn! I can't believe I wrote that! Not in a vain way, just kind of in...

B-dizzle fo rizzle
So yesterday was my birthday (yay) and sadly I was a bit sick and naturally spent most of the day laying outside trying not to die.  This activity allowed for me to do quite a bit of thinking and one concept in particular I continue to wrap my mind around.  Is it more important to be loved, or have someone to love? Are the words “I love you” more important reverberating thought your...

Manifesto
It is not a shoe store.  It is a starting point, a place that converts human inertia into a force that spins the globe.  A force that tramples down walls and eradicates excuses, and brings a nation to it’s feet. It moves people for life. And health, and strength, it’s momentum is unstoppable, unslowable, even. It moves people to move people. It moves people together, it ignites...
